How it works

Tell us how you drink it

Strong and short, long and light, or something with milk you can drink at four in the afternoon. Nobody here will make you feel wrong for asking.

We grind for your brew

Beans ground to order for espresso, V60, moka or French press — say which and we set the grinder to match.

Come back for the second bag

Tell us what you thought and we will push you a little further in or a little away from that direction. That is how the subscription works too.

Frequently asked questions

Can't find your answer? Send us a message and we'll reply within a day.

What time does the bread come out?

Sourdough at 7:00, cardamom buns from 7:30, and the savoury pastry around nine. Most days everything is gone by two, so the early queue is not just for coffee.

Can I work here for a few hours?

Before ten and after three, gladly — there are plugs along the back wall. Between twelve and two we ask for the table when it is busy, because that is when the whole street is trying to eat.

Which milks do you have?

Whole and semi from a single herd forty kilometres away, oat, barista soy and lactose-free. There is no charge for any of them.

Do you sell the coffee you roast?

All of it, in 250g and 1kg bags with the roast date stamped on. We grind to order for espresso, filter, moka or French press if you tell us which.

Is there room for prams and dogs?

Two spaces by the window are kept clear for prams, and dogs are welcome anywhere except the two tables closest to the bakery door.

Can I book the café for an event?

Evenings from 18:00, up to thirty-five people. We do filter, wine, and food from the bakery, and we can leave the roaster running for the smell if you ask nicely.
